Namibia Part 6: Leaving Swakopmund

Before leaving Swakopmund, and after an approximately 2 minute training session, I did some desert quad biking.

Admittedly I shouldn’t have been taking photos while driving! Quad-biking on sand dunes was so much fun, especially accelerating really fast before curving up and around the dune surface! It’s also quite dangerous as a tumble can result in serious injury.

Swakopmund was one of my favourite coastal towns, but we had to leave, and continued north and camped near the granite peaks of Spitzkoppe.

We passed small huts and houses on the way.

Imagine what it would be like to live in those little huts, on a hot ordinary day, or to sit in the shade by the road and sell things.

You might (or might not) think of it as an oblivious kind of happiness.

We pitched camp and went on a walk.

Some randoms off in the distance as we sat on a boulder at sunset.

Watching the stars come out.

Preparing dinner.

Ice cream for dessert in the desert was cool.

And ending the day by the fire…
