Namibia is a large country. From South Africa, you enter Namibia surrounded by desert. It is one of the least densely populated countries on Earth.
There was something really special about watching the desert landscape rush past.

Our bus had technical problems along the way!

We visited the Fish River Canyon which is claimed to be the second largest in the world.

It was super cool watching the sun rise on this beautiful, arid terrain.

After a scenic breakfast we hit the road again, soaking in more of the desert, and occasionally stopping for breaks or meals.

We pitched our tents at a campsite, surrounded by the reddish dust of the desert.

The place was really conducive to reflection and quiet admiration of the peace of such a simple landscape.

And while the day was not very comfortable – the road is mostly unpaved and rough – I loved every minute of it. The long drive and vast space only added to the sense of adventure!
